Taking their reputation for friendliness to a whole new level, hilarious video shows one amorous dolphin burst out of the water and begin to dry-hump a shocked girl.

The YouTube clip which has been viewed over two million times, begins with the girl sitting on a pontoon in Cuba dangling her legs in the water having just encountered a dolphin who is swimming in the area.

She obviously made an immediate impression because seconds later the dolphin leaps up onto the girl putting her flat on her back and into a state of uncontrollable giggles as it thrusts away.

Oblivious to the laughter of the lifeguards and holidaymakers standing around watching, the dolphin carries on regardless for about ten seconds before looking around and slipping itself back into the water.

Bobbing its head, the dolphin seems to share a smile with the hysterically laughing girl, before dipping itself back under leaving the girl to look around wondering what hit her.

YouTube user bsms808, who posted the footage, joked in the description, 'My friend got more than she bargained for! Flipper flippin' loved it!'

Listed under entertainment on the video-sharing website, the video was uploaded in July of last year, but has garnered millions of hits in the last week.

Dolphins are acknowledged as one of only a few species, including humans to have an interest in recreational sex.

A team of researchers spent six years studying the behaviour of 120 bluenose dolphins in Shark Bay, Western Australia and discovered that dolphins exhibit human style traits in their sexual practices.

This included recreational sex within their pod, males acting as 'wingmen' for each other in mating situations and even examples of sexual violence towards each other.

So complicated are the bonds between dolphins that one of the researchers has described them as ‘mentally and physically exhausting’ – and declared he was glad he wasn’t a dolphin.

The researchers found that dolphins appeared to live in a society without boundaries, in which animals paired and teamed up for a time, before splitting apart or even switching sides.

Only human society has such a complex social structure.

Professor Connor told Discovery News: ‘I work on the male dolphins and their social lives are very intense. It seems there is constant drama.’

The study is just the latest example of dolphin intelligence.

The creatures also communicate through body language and can be taught to understand the basic elements of human language including vocabulary, sentences, questions and demands.

Stunning footage shows daredevil free-diver Guillaume Néry plummeting to the depths of the world's deepest swimming pool.

The astonishing video sees the 29-year-old plunging, without any breathing equipment whatsoever, a staggering 33metres to the bottom of the NEMO 33.

The venue, in central Brussels, Belgium, contains 2.5million litres of non-chlorinated spring water and is usually reserved for scuba drivers to train in.

With its simulated underwater caves, and constant toasty temperatures, it provides the perfect place for budding divers to gain their qualifications.

For French-born Néry the dive would have been a welcome change from his usual escapades in harbours across the world.

The constant-weight free-diving specialist broke the world record in 2002 by descending 87metres in the Villefranche-sur-Mer harbour, in Alpes-Maritimes, France.

And in 2004, he plunged 96metres in Saint-Leu, la Réunion, before battering the record again in 2006 with a 109metre dive in Nice, France.

His feat has subsequently been beaten by two other divers, with Herbert Nitsch currently holding the title with 124metres.

A video of a golden retriever saving a puppy from a swimming pool has become an online hit… and rightly so.

In the clip, a distressed little pup can be seen doing doggie paddle (obviously) in the middle of the pool after apparently being thrown in.

But within seconds the lifeguard dog mother has jumped in and helped the pup reach the side of the pool by supporting her above the water with her snout.

Then, as the little dog struggled to get out the mother climbed out of the pool ran around and grabbed it by its scruff before dragging it to safety.
Obviously the question remains as to why the person filming the rescue did nothing to help the pup themselves.

Indian farmers who claimed tax bosses were making bribery demands, decided to get their own back -- by releasing bags of deadly snakes in their office.

In total around 40 snakes, including deadly cobras, were released at the office in Basti -- prompting staff to jump up on chairs and flee.

The farmers behind the stunt, one of whom was a snake charmer, say officials were demanding bribes to supply the tax records for their land.

No one was bitten or injured in the incident -- which has become an online hit… especially in the HMRC offices.

An 18-year-old student who bizarrely became trapped in a clothes horse after falling out of bed had to call the fire brigade to free her.

Danielle Morgan ended up with her neck and shoulders wedged between the bars in the odd accident and initially called friends to free her.

However, they seem to have been more interested in taking photos and videos to upload to YouTube and eventually the fire brigade and bolt cutters were required.

A team attended the incident at Sir Peter Hilton Court, Derby University and freed the red-faced first-year student.
