Meet the newbies

They're young, they're keen, and they're raring to go. Meet the pint-sized new additions at one safari park hoping to win over thousands of visitors with their playful antics.

A mild winter has led to a baby boom at the Blair Drummond Safari Park near Stirling, Scotland, and Angus the rhino, Marvin the meerkat, Dylan the donkey, Levi the joey and Oscar the marmoset were all born during the winter closure.

The adorable youngsters will go on display when the park re-opens tomorrow - and while some have been getting ready for their big moment, others just can't hide their excitement.

Park manager Gary Gilmour said: 'I’ve never known there to be so many baby animals born while we were closed. 'I think it’s to do with the mild winter, the animals were more lively this year and there will be a few more babies born in the next few weeks.'
