A giant mermaid swam upstream and is now the centre of attraction on Alter lake in Hamburg, Germany. The four-metre-high sculpture, dubbed "Riesen-Nixe" (grand mermaid) or "Badenixe" (bathing beauty), is the artwork of German artist Oliver Voss. It will be on display for ten days.
